Hibernian vs Dundee United Betting Tips & Predictions

Hibernian, after coming close to achieving promotion last season, look set to throw away their chance of a promotion playoff this season. They were comfortably in 2nd position in the Scottish Championship, but a terrible run of form has seen them slip six points behind Falkirk and into 3rd, and 4th place Raith Rovers are only five points adrift of them.

It’s understandable how their cushion has been eliminated as well. Hibernian have only won two of their last 11 games in all competitions, and only one of these was in the league. Six of these 11 games have ended in defeat for the previously unbeatable Hibs.

One shining light at the end of the tunnel is a Scottish FA Cup final though, and they just need to dispatch of Dundee United to get there. Despite them being a division apart, Hibernian will feel they have a very good chance of making it past them.

Dundee United sit at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership, and with eight points between them and safety they look all but guaranteed to be relegated this season.

They did threaten a resurgence a couple of months ago, but they come into this match having lost three and won just one of their last five matches. Their good run of form earlier in the year just wasn’t enough to recover from a shocking first half to the season.

Both teams have been pretty poor at the back recently. Hibernian haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 11 games, although to be fair they have got on the scoresheet themselves in eight of these games.

Dundee United have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven outings, and with them also getting on the scoresheet in five of these games odds of 3/4 for Both Teams to Score look good value to me. I’m backing Hibs to get the win with a 2-1 correct score prediction as well.
