Hibernian vs Dundee United Predictions
- Both teams have scored in eight of Hibs last ten home games and in four Dundee United’s last five matches.
- The Hibees have netted 1.73 times at Easter Road but have also conceded at least once in their last ten home ties.
- The Terrors have scored 1.55 goals when on the road this season.
Goals galore in Leith
After seeing at least two goals in their last 18 games, Hibs saw out a goalless draw against 3rd-placed Motherwell at Easter Road and will be eager to not repeat the same outcome against Dundee United, with whom they drew 2-2 in their first game of the Scottish Cup.
The Hibees have only lost one game in their last five at home, losing 3-0 to Rangers. The club has also continued to impress up front, netting at least twice in their last eight games at Easter Road, bringing their average up to 1.73 goals. However, they’ve also tended to concede quite a few too, letting in 16 goals and only keeping a clean sheet once in their 11 home games.
United in red-hot form
Championship leaders Dundee United continued their unbeaten run in the league as they drew 1-1 with Greenock Morton. The Terrors are now undefeated in their last 14 games. Their away form is a little worse, losing three games on the road- their only defeats in the campaign so far.
Robbie Neilson’s side has kept up their goalscoring streak on the road too, although they have scored as many as in their home games, netting an average of 1.55 goals and only failing to do so three times this season. The Terrors also remain somewhat tight at the back letting in just 0.91 goals.
Another draw on the cards
Regardless of either side’s recent form, they’ll both be eager as each other to make it through to the next round. Dundee United comfortable lead at the top of the Championship allowed them to focus more on their upcoming cup tie, with Hibs also failing to impress over the weekend. We expect both teams to score here, as it has happened in eight of Hibs’ last ten home ties as well as in four of Dundee United’s last five ties.
As for the final score, we’re going for another 2-2 draw, as we believe that they’ll be plenty of goals scored at Easter Road, with the Hibees netting an average of 1.73 at home and conceding at least once in their last ten games. The Terrors have also netted 1.55 times on the road this season.
