Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid Predictions
- Real Madrid have kept seven clean sheets in their last 10 La Liga matches
- Both teams have not scored in three of the last four meetings of the clubs
- Real Sociedad’s xG away to Getafe last time out was 0.02
Hosts in shocking form ahead of Madrid visit
Real Madrid are fancied to annexe the points when they head to San Sebastian to take on a pallid Real Sociedad side at the Anoeta. Carlo Ancelotti’s men are unbeaten in La Liga this term, but are yet to win away from Estadio Bernabeu.
That could change on Saturday because Real Sociedad are in shocking form. and have injury problems in attack. Mikel Oyarzabal appeared to be out of the clash after sustaining an ankle knock on international duty, but he trained on his return to the club and could play some part.
Txuri-Urdin failed to register in their last game against Getafe and it was hardly surprising given they managed a total of one shot and one touch in their opponent’s box with a final xG of 0.02. Imanol Alguacil’s side are highly unlikely to beat the Champions League holders in their current state.
Los Blancos can keep another clean sheet
Los Blancos are back in European action next week and there may be a small chance they take their eye off the task in hand because of that. Real Madrid failed to win three of their six league games that preceded group fixtures last term.
With that in mind and the fact that Madrid have been denied a win in three of their past six visits to the Anoeta too, it may be better to back both teams not to score at similar odds to the away victory.
Real Madrid have kept clean sheets in seven of their last 10 La Liga matches, and blanked eight of their 19 road opponents last term. Real Sociedad were solid defensively last season too, but the summer losses of Robin Le Normand and Mikel Merino have made them a touch easier to score against.
