Los Blancos can build on El Clasico success

A 3-2 win in El Clasico last Sunday nudged Real Madrid closer to the La Liga title and they should have few issues away to Real Sociedad on Friday.

Los Blancos stretched their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 17 games with their victory over Barca, which followed a disciplined draw and penalty shootout victory over Manchester City in the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side face Bayern Munich next in Europe’s elite club competition with the first leg taking place next Tuesday.

And while they may rotate for this week’s fixture, they have juggled domestic duties with continental action well this season and can grind out victory.

Real Sociedad on the back foot

It looks as though Real Sociedad will have to settle for sixth spot in La Liga and they have been underwhelming recently, having been held to draws by Almeria and Getafe.

They have picked up only 24 of their 51 league points on home soil this term and they lost the reverse of this fixture 2-1 to Real Madrid back in September.

A Real Madrid win and under 3.5 goals is the wise bet and a repeat of September’s scoreline could also be on the cards at the Anoeta.
