Huesca vs Real Zaragoza Betting Tips & Predictions

These sides are at opposite ends of the table but with Huesca, the lower ranked side at home and in good form it could still be a very close contest. Huesca are 5 points above the relegation zone with 3 games to play and should now stay up and another point or two will all but guarantee that. Zaragoza by contrast are desperate for a return to the riches of La Liga but still have plenty of work to do. They were in 5th place going into the midweek action but with a host of teams on their tail, they can’t afford any slip-ups as they bid to secure a play-off place.

Automatic promotion was the target for Zaragoza but that now looks quite unlikely. They’ve dropped points in their last two matches and were beaten 1-0 at home by promotion rivals Gimnastic Tarragona at the weekend with José Naranjo scoring a late penalty for the Catalans. They’ve only won 1 of their last 7 away games too so you couldn’t confidently back them to win this on current form although 5 of those 7 matches did end in draws.

Huesca have staged their own version of the great escape in recent weeks. They looked highly likely to be heading back to the Segunda B for much of the campaign but they’ve won 5 of their last 7 matches and 4 of their last 5 to move clear of the relegation zone heading into the final few games. They caused a huge shock at the weekend, winning 3-2 at 2nd place Leganes with Juanjo Camacho netting twice in a win that has pushed them to the very brink of safety.

This has the potential to be a good game. Anything but 3 points for Zaragoza could see them fall out of the play-off places so they will have to come out and try and win it but Huesca have been looking good in front of goal of late so they could be exposed at the back. Both teams have scored in 3 of Huesca’s last 4 matches and in 6 of Zaragoza’s last 8 including all of their last 4 on the road. Therefore backing both teams to score at 17/20 might be the way to go here.
