Must-win fixture on the cards for Montenegro

June’s meeting between Montenegro and Hungary was a drab 0-0 draw but this Sunday’s meeting between the sides in Budapest should be more eventful.

Hungary will be in jubilant mood after securing a spot at Euro 2024 with a 2-2 draw against Bulgaria, courtesy of a 97th-minute own goal from Aleks Petkov.

They will want to finish on a winning note, while Montenegro can still make the top two in their Euro 2024 qualifying group.

They are likely to be pipped to the post by Serbia, who will qualify if they avoid defeat against Bulgaria and Montenegro do not beat Hungary.

But they can still be expected to throw everything at the game and should at least get on the scoresheet.

Budapest should play host to high-scoring contest

Hungary are unbeaten after seven qualifiers but they have conceded in each of their last four and a bet on the home team and both teams to score looks the way to go.

The goals have flowed in Hungary’s recent games with their visit to Lithuania last month finishing 2-2 before a repeat of that scoreline against Bulgaria on Thursday.

With that in mind, a 3-1 win to Hungary is a wise correct score selection.
