Inter Milan vs Real Madrid Predictions
- Real Madrid and Inter Milan have scored in all of their games this season.
- There have been over 2.5 goals in all of Inter’s games and in three of Real’s four outings.
- Real beat the Nerazzurri twice in the group stages last season.
Inter and Real meet again
Inter Milan take on Real Madrid in the Champions League group stages for the second season in a row.
Los Blancos won both fixtures last season, but much has changed at both clubs in the intervening months.
The two European giants both have new managers in charge, while Inter have seen star forward Romelu Lukaku depart and Real have lost defensive talisman Sergio Ramos and fellow centre-half Raphael Varane.
Questions over both defences
Real are unbeaten this season in La Liga with 10 points from a possible 12 and the Nerazzurri are also yet to lose as they have seven points from their three games. However, both have struggled defensively as both teams have scored in two of Inter’s three fixtures and Real have kept just one clean sheet, conceding six goals in total in their four games.
As such, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals both look like good options in this match-up and at slightly better value the latter is my main bet for this fixture. Over 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in all three of Inter’s games so far and in three of Madrid’s.
Real have the edge
This could well be a closely fought encounter between two teams still finding their respective feet under new managers but Real Madrid can edge this tie. The Spanish heavyweights have been in free-scoring form with 13 goals in four games so far, including a 5-2 victory over Celta Vigo at the weekend, and a 3-2 win for the visitors stands out in the correct score market.
Benzema the danger man
France international Karim Benzema hit a hat-trick against Celta on Sunday to take his tally for the season to five goals in four games. The 33-year-old scored six goals in 10 games in Europe’s top competition last season and as Real’s designated penalty taker looks a good bet in the anytime scorer market.
