Jamaica vs Haiti Predictions
Both these sides have already been eliminated from World Cup qualifying so there is little at stake here and the only thing left to determine is who will finish bottom of the group.
Jamaica will be bitterly disappointed with how they’ve done in this group, particularly given they were really impressive at the CONCACAF Gold Cup last year when they reached the final having knocked out USA. Hopes were high that they could get themselves back to a World Cup for the first time since 1998 but it just hasn’t worked out. A 2-0 defeat in Panama on Friday sealed their fate but they will look back on their home matches as to where things went wrong. They were surprisingly beaten by Nicaragua at home in qualifying for this phase and qualification already looked a tall order when they lost 2-0 at home to Panama in their first group game.
They’ve lost 4 games in a row now including the 3 they lost at Copa America but this match should at least offer them an opportunity to try and salvage some pride and a long overdue home win. Haiti also lost all their matches at Copa America and have lost 6 in a row overall now including a 1-0 home defeat to Costa Rica on Friday night. They just lack any real cutting edge up front and have scored only 3 goals in their last 10 internationals.
They are yet to score in this group and, given that, it would be a surprise if they found the net in this one. Jamaica will want to at least put on a performance for their home fans but Haiti can be stubborn opponents and all of their 4 defeats in this group have been by 1-0 margins. Therefore backing Jamaica to Win 1-0 at 4/1 looks the most appealing option in the correct score market.
