France could concede consolation in Astana

France should comfortably bag their first victory in Group D when they take on Kazakhstan in Astana this weekend, though it may be worth backing against the world champions maintaining a clean sheet.

Nothing other than a French success can be reasonably expected here with the hosts 122^nd in the FIFA Rankings, but it’s highly feasible that Taigat Baysufinov’s men can get on the scoresheet having struck in ten of their last 14 outings at the Astana Arena.

Granted, those goals came against inferior opposition, however, the Kazakh’s netted here against the likes of Poland and Denmark in the last World Cup Qualifying campaign despite being outclassed, and there are certainly a few question marks hanging over the French at present.
