Napoli to Win

Reason for tip

Napoli are yet to lose under Francesco Calzona, beating Juventus and drawing with Barcelona in that run, suggesting they should be far too strong for Torino, who have won just one of their last eight away games and have lost five of their last six meetings with Gli Azzurri.

Napoli 2-0

Reason for tip

Napoli are yet to keep a clean sheet under Calzona, but that could be about to change. Torino have blanked in two of their last three matches and four of their last seven road games, suggesting they may be in for a disappointing trip to Naples.

Napoli vs Torino Predictions

  • Napoli have won five of the last six meetings between the pair
  • Gli Azzurri are unbeaten since appointing Francesco Calzona as interim manager, winning two and drawing two of the games under his stewardship
  • Torino have won just one of their last eight away games, failing to score on four occasions in that run

Torino to be tested in Naples

Torino will be heading to Naples feeling hopeful they can get a result against the reigning Serie A champions having won the reverse fixture 3-0.

However, that Turin triumph came against Walter Mazzarri’s Napoli. They have since parted ways with the former Watford boss and have put together a four-game unbeaten streak since appointing Francesco Calzona, who followed up his maiden 6-1 victory with a sensational 2-1 win over Juventus on Sunday.

Gli Azzurri look a completely different side under Calzona and they should be too strong for Torino, who have won only one of their last eight away games.

Napoli set to extend winning run

Under the Slovakia manager’s stewardship, Napoli have scored ten goals in just four games and he is certainly getting a tune out of their star players.

African Player of the Year Victor Osimhen has netted five goals in four games under Calzona while Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has scored three and assisted one in that time.

That is bad news for Torino, who are winless in three, have lost five of their last six meetings with Napoli  and have failed to win in Naples since 2009.

The hosts have endured a tough season so far but seem to be improving at just the right time under Calzona, and should be set for another victory on Friday as they look to usurp the teams above them and pinch a European spot.
