Greg Vanney can continue winning start with LA Galaxy

There was a lot to like about LA Galaxy in their MLS season opener against Inter Miami last time out and they can build on that 3-2 win when they take on the New York Red Bulls this week.

Former Toronto boss Greg Vanney saw his new Galaxy side come from behind twice to win the game in Florida and that should do them the world of confidence at the start of the campaign.

Javier Hernandez also bagged a brace in that match and could be a problem for a Red Bulls side who lost their first match of the campaign 2-1 against Sporting Kansas City.

The Big Apple side also finished their 2020 season with only three wins in their final ten matches (including the playoffs) and they were not the most reliable club on their travels either, finishing with a 4-4-5 away record in MLS last year.

With that in mind, punters should side with Galaxy under the stewardship of experience Vanney and in good spirits after their opening-weekend triumph. This Galaxy team have goals in them but are also permeable at the back so a 3-1 win for the hosts could be the best correct score prediction.
