Lazio have won four successive matches, posting seven victories in their last eight league games and – remarkably – only conceding one goal in that run. While Lazio’s expected goals figures suggest some deal of good fortune in defence, with just 20 goals conceded from over 34 xGA this term, goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and defensive duo Alessio Romagnoli and Patric deserve great credit for their performances. Indeed, Torino have taken just two points from their last four games, having squandered an early lead in last week’s dispiriting stalemate against Salernitana. Il Toro have also failed to net in two of their last four games, while only six Serie A teams have scored fewer than their 31 goals in 30 league outings this campaign. Against top-seven opponents, meanwhile, Ivan Juric’s side have lost each of their last four games, and more disappointment looks likely when they head to the capital.

With Lazio in exceptional form and – unlike their top-four rivals – bereft of any European distractions, backing the hosts for another victory looks the obvious play ahead of Saturday’s Serie A action.

Meanwhile, a routine 2-0 home win looks a solid correct score prediction and Mattia Zaccagni – who has two goals in his last two appearances at the Olimpico – represents a strong anytime scorer play, particularly with Ciro Immobile sidelined after he was injured in a car accident earlier this week.
