Lazio vs Torino Predictions

  • Ciro Immobile netted a hat-trick at Genoa last weekend, and now has five goals in his last five outings for Lazio.
  • Incredibly, the striker has scored in every single one of his Serie A games against teams currently in the bottom half of the table this season, a tally of 20 goals in 14 matches.
  • Immobile has also scored in four of the last five head-to-head meetings between the teams.
  • Lazio have won four of their last five games, but a 1-1 draw with Torino in September’s return fixture could be enough to put punters off backing them outright.

Immobile can boost Capocannoniere hopes as Lazio eye Europe

With Lazio winning four of their last five games and looking good for a top-six finish in Serie A, talismanic forward Ciro Immobile has his eye on another Serie A top goalscorer gong, with the Italian currently leading Dusan Vlahovic by two goals as we enter the home stretch of the season. Saturday’s opponents Torino may have the league’s fifth-best defensive record, but the omens look good for Immobile against the 12th-placed visitors.

Incredibly, Immobile has not failed to score in any league outing against a team currently sat in Serie A’s bottom half this term, hitting a staggering 20 goals in 14 such games. The 32-year-old is in danger of earning a reputation as a flat-track bully for posting such figures, netting just four goals in his 13 games against stronger opposition, but netted a treble at Genoa last week to fire Lazio to a 4-1 win, so should be in confident mood.

Torino do still boast the best defensive record outside Serie A’s top four, although their run of two consecutive clean sheets followed a return of just one from nine matches. Il Toro are safe from relegation and unlikely to compete for a top-half finish, with a run of one win from their last 10 games perhaps showing Ivan Juric’s men are going through the motions at present.

Back top scorer to fire with win market offering poor value

Immobile netted against Torino in a 1-1 draw earlier this season, and has eight goals in 12 career Serie A appearances against them after scoring in four of the last five head-to-head meetings.

With Lazio looking a tad short for a win after proving they have a costly slip-up in them this season, backing the Eagles’ idol to net anytime looks an excellent play.

Meanwhile, Torino do have a tendency to make games competitive, but a Lazio side which averages two goals per game in Serie A this term should have enough. Backing a 2-1 home win looks a decent correct score prediction.
