Leicester can edge it against out-of-sorts Preston

Leicester look the best bet when they host Preston in the Championship on Friday. The visitors are on a two-game losing run away from home and could be heading for another loss here.

Preston are nine places and 13 points above Leicester in the table. The hosts are 22nd with 11 wins, 12 draws and 16 losses, while Preston, who have won, drawn and lost 13 times each, sit in 13th.

Preston are out of form, and backing their opponents during their current run of five defeats in seven Championship games would have resulted in a profit of 3.96 units. They have won seven of their 26 games as an underdog this season.

Their recent away form has been poor, with five losses in their last seven Championship matches on the road. They have now gone six games without an away win.

The visitors are struggling to find the back of the net. Preston have failed to score in four of their last six Championship away games and have lost their last two on the road without scoring.

Their defence has been far from watertight of late, with the visitors failing to keep a clean sheet in 13 of their last 16 Championship games. They are on a run of six away days without recording a shutout.

There have been over 2.5 goals in 23 of Leicester’s 39 Championship games this season, and a 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick. Of Leicester’s 11 league victories, five were by a 2-1 scoreline.
