Liverpool vs West Ham Predictions

Liverpool’s unbeaten streak came to an end in dramatic fashion last weekend as they relinquished a two goal lead twice to lose 4-3 away to Bournemouth thanks to a 93rd minute Nathan Ake winner.

This followed on from a run of 15 games in which they had won 12 and drawn three, and after this defeat they are now four points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The majority of Liverpool’s failures to win have come away from home though, and at home they are in possession of an almost perfect record. They have won seven of their eight games and drawn once, scoring 23 goals and conceding five at the other end to give them one of the best home records in the league.

Liverpool’s fantastic combination of attacking players has been behind this success, and even with Phillipe Coutinho sidelined they have a wealth of talent at their disposal. Sadio Mane is likely to be the main threat on Sunday. The former Southampton man has shaken off a minor knock and is expected to start on Sunday, and with five of his seven league goals this season coming at Anfield he looks the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions at 8/11.

If West Ham’s recent form is anything to go by he should get a fair few chances as well. The struggling Hammers lost 5-1 at home to Arsenal last weekend after a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United sent them out of the League Cup. They are now winless in six matches in all competitions, and despite his success last season Slaven Bilic’s job is under real threat.

Away from home their form record looks even worse. They have lost seven of their ten games in all competitions and won just once. At the back they have conceded 21 times, which will be very promising news to the Liverpool attack.

West Ham have managed to score in all but one of their away games this season though, whilst Liverpool have only kept a clean sheet in three of their eight at Anfield. A Liverpool win is very likely here, but both teams finding the net looks good too. For this reason I’m going for a Liverpool Win and Both Teams to Score at 8/5 along with a 4-1 correct score predictions at excellent value odds of 16/1.
