Goals could be at a premium in Luxembourg

Luxembourg take on Azerbaijan in World Cup qualifying on Wednesday and will be looking to build on a positive start to their Group A campaign.

Luxembourg opened their bid to reach Qatar with a 1-0 win in Ireland but then slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Portugal.

Azerbaijan are pointless after two games, although they have faced the two group leaders in Portugal and Serbia and lost by one goal on each occasion.

There is a case to be made for a Luxembourg win here, but the goals markets look better options and under 2.5 goals stands out.

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of Luxembourg’s last six games, while eight of Azerbaijan’s last 11 away games have seen fewer than three goals, and a 1-0 win for the hosts is my correct score selection.
