Lyon should stop Nice’s mini-revival in its tracks at Groupama Stadium on Sunday. Les Gones are coming off a 3-2 Europa League home win over Crystal Palace and appear to have too much firepower for Olivier Pantaloni’s team.

That said, it may not be as straightforward as the match odds suggest because Nice have improved greatly since the start of the campaign. Pantaloni has steadied the ship by relying on some consistent characters like Gauthier Hein and Axel Witsel.

Back-to-back home wins over Lille and Strasbourg are not to be sniffed at, although they have not produced anything comparable to those performances on the road. Both of their senior left-backs are out and Fonseca could be forced into a reshuffle in defence with Moussa Niakhaté due to return. This could impact their build-up play and lower goal expectation for a fixture which has rarely been prolific.
