Malmo FF vs Juventus Predictions

  • Malmo have scored in all eight of their competitive home games this term, bagging 17 goals in total.
  • However, the Swedes have conceded in four of their last six here and in five of their last seven starts overall.
  • Juventus have conceded in their opening three Serie A games, shipping five goals in total.
  • The Old Lady have conceded in six of their last nine UEFA Champions League away outings.

Swedes can give Juve plenty to think about

Malmo have netted 17 goals in their eight competitive home games this season and the Swedish champions can cause stuttering Juventus problems in Tuesday’s Group H opener at Eleda Stadion.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side are the clear favourites to finish bottom of this section, but they’re evidently a team to be respected on their own turf and they managed to beat SPL champions Rangers here en route to qualifying for the competition proper.

The visit of Italian giants Juventus to Eleda Stadion is of course a much sterner challenge for Malmo, though they’ll be encouraged by Juve’s poor domestic performances either side of the international break.

The Old Lady come into this tie having suffered consecutive Serie A defeats at the hands of Empoli and Napoli, and Max Allegri’s men may well be feeling the effects of Ronaldo’s departure to Manchester United.

Juve could still possess far too much quality for Malmo this Tuesday, but they’re simply not the force of a couple of seasons ago and that’s reflected in their 28/1 outright odds. Prices of around 1/2 for a Juve success this week make little appeal, and instead punters should take a chance on both teams scoring at Eleda Stadion.

In addition to Malmo’s prolific scoring here this term, the Swedes have conceded in four of their last six home games and in five of their last seven overall, while Juve have conceded in each of their three Serie A starts, leaking five goals in total.

The Italians have also conceded in six of their last nine Champions League away trips, so BTTS looks the value call for this clash, with Juve given the narrow vote to edge matters 1-2 in the correct score market.
