Manchester United vs AC Milan Predictions
- Milan have won just two of their last seven
- United have won five of their last six home Europa League games
- Fernandes is the top scorer in the Europa League since the start of last season
United to edge heavyweight tie
Arguably the tie of the round sees these two former European champions aiming to land some continental silverware. Both sides are trailing behind their city rivals domestically, so this competition offers a chance for both to land a trophy.
It’s United who look in the best position coming into this one, following their win at City on Sunday. Milan have been off the boil in 2021 and the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a major blow for the Rossoneri.
United are unbeaten in 11 games ahead of this one and they’ve kept a clean sheet in each of their last four. Meanwhile, Milan have won just twice in their last seven. The Rossoneri only made it through on away goals against Red Star and their Europa League campaign hasn’t been great.
Milan have won only two of their last six in this competition, while they meet a United side who have won five of their last six at home in the Europa League. Given that, we’re backing United’s unbeaten run and clean sheet streak to continue. A home win is our first pick, alongside a 2-0 correct score prediction.
Despite playing only two games in this season’s competitions, United’s Bruno Fernandes is the top scorer in the Europa League since the start of last season. He’s hit 10 goals in 12 appearances and after scoring against City Fernandes is good value to find the net here.
