Manfield boosted their chances of making it to the League Two playoffs on Friday with a 1-0 win away to Wycombe Wanderers, ending their two match losing streak and putting them within touching distance of the top seven.

They are now lying in 10th position in the table, just two points adrift of Carlisle but facing a battle against up to seven other teams for a spot in the playoffs. The battle for these valuable places is making for a thrilling end to the season.

Luton are hoping to avoid this battle completely, and instead have their eyes set on automatic promotion. There are eight points between them and the automatic promotion spots though so it’s a long shot, but they do have a six point cushion inside the playoff zone and will feel confident of making the top seven at least.

They would have been in a much better position had they not played out a surprising 2-2 draw at home to Leyton Orient on Friday, following on from two 1-0 wins over Blackpool and Barnet.

Luton have been very difficult to beat this season, but they seem to fall short when it comes to winning games. They have drawn six of their last 12 outings in League Two, winning three and losing three.

Away from home they play out stalemates even more, drawing five of their last eight in League Two. They are facing a Mansfield side who have only lost three of their last 11 home games in all competitions as well, so a victory could be difficult for the visitors here.
