Marseille vs Angers Predictions

L’OM looking for a response

Marseille went down 2-1 at Lens in their last outing but should be able to get back to winning ways when they host relegated Angers on Sunday.

That result saw L’OM drop down to third in the standings as Lens moves into second spot, but with four games remaining Marseille are still in with a chance of securing automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Angers can score in defeat

Marseille’s defence has looked vulnerable in recent weeks and they have managed just one clean sheet in their last eight games, and they have conceded in each of their last four wins.

Les Phoceens have conceded in each of their last nine at the Velodrome so a home win with both teams to score appeals here, as it is hard to see Angers claiming any points but they should be able to grab a goal.

Angers, who sit bottom of Ligue 1 with just 14 points, have scored in all of their last six games despite losing four of those, and they should be able to play with a bit of freedom against their hosts now they know they will be playing in the second tier next season.

A 3-1 win for Marseille is the correct score prediction as they have hit five goals in total across their last two home games and Angers concede on average over two goals-per-game. Cengiz Under has scored in three consecutive games prior to the loss at Lens and he looks a good contender for a goal at anytime for the home side.
