• Bordeaux’s only loss in four was a narrow 3-2 defeat at home to PSG.

Bordeaux to build on positive Paris performance

Two late goals against PSG from Bordeaux brought them to within a whisker of getting a draw out of the league leaders but they fell just short in what was an encouraging display.

The visitors will be out to move further clear of bottom club Metz. Bordeaux are currently 18th having dropped into the bottom three prior to the international break on goal difference. They have won just one of their last seven matches but have only lost twice so should at least take something from this game. A win and two draws from their last four matches on the road also reinforces our double chance prediction.

Meanwhile, Metz are floundering at the foot of the table and find themselves four points adrift at this early stage making this a massive game in their season already. They have picked up just one win through 13 matches and have scored just four goals in their last five fixtures since their win in Brest.

Their home record is the worst in the division as they have taken just three points from six games (3D, 3L) and they have failed to win any of their last 14 Ligue 1 games at home. I’m predicting a 1-1 draw given the fact that Bordeaux’s defence has been all at sea this season but they should have enough going forward to bail them out and could even nick all three points.
