MK Dons vs Barnet Predictions

MK Dons have been winners in five of their last six League Two home games and they should be backed to beat Barnet on Saturday.

They are ten places above Barnet in the table, with the two sides separated by 20 points. Both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with MK Dons having won 21 and Barnet 14.

A first-half goal was enough for MK Dons to get the job done against mid-table Colchester in their last League Two game on Wednesday, keeping up their recent winning trend. They have now won 16 of the 19 games in which they’ve scored first this season (84%) and didn’t allow Colchester a single shot on target. This win makes it 11 wins in the 18 matches in which MK Dons have been odds-on this season.

Scoring has not been an issue for MK Dons lately. They have scored an average of 1.47 goals a game in their 17 League Two games against other top-half teams this season, and no team has more League Two goals overall than MK Dons’ 75 in 38 games.

MK Dons have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 16 goals in 19 League Two games – an average of 0.84 goals per game. They have kept their opponents at bay in four of their last five on home turf.

MK Dons seem to be firing on all cylinders. They have won seven of their last nine League Two matches, a run that stretches back 14 games without tasting defeat. MK Dons have led at half-time in each of those victories and are aiming for a fifth straight success. They have won their last two home games.

Barnet are out of form. They have not won in three League Two games.

The visitors have shown defensive frailties in recent games, with Barnet failing to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven League Two matches. Their last shutout was against Chesterfield last month.

MK Dons to win 1-0 at home looks a decent correct-score bet. Four of Barnet’s last five League Two matches have ended with under 2.5 goals and MK Dons have won their last two league games by a goal.
