Hosts can claim narrow victory

Saturday’s League Two clash between MK Dons and Cheltenham at Stadium MK is unlikely to be a goalfest. There have been under 2.5 goals in MK Dons’ last seven league games and that trend looks set to continue here.

Cheltenham finished 15th in League Two last season, eight points above MK Dons in 19th. Cheltenham had 16 wins, 12 draws and 18 defeats, while MK Dons won 14, drew ten and lost 22 times.

With Paul Warne at the helm, MK Dons have gone six straight games unbeaten in League Two. Four of those have finished all square, but the Dons have splashed the cash over the summer and expectations are high in Milton Keynes.

MK Dons beat Barrow 2-0 in their last League Two game last weekend, and were comfortable winners at odds of 13/8, despite the pre-game betting suggesting it would be a close match. The Dons didn’t allow Barrow a shot on target.

Cheltenham are struggling, losing their first two League Two matches without scoring a goal, while there have been under 2.5 goals in MK Dons’ last three home games in League Two.

A 1-0 home success for MK Dons appeals in the correct-score market. At least one team failed to score in MK Dons’ last nine League Two matches and they have won the last two meetings with Cheltenham by the odd goal.
