In-form Odd can cause Molde problems

Molde go into the latest round of fixtures as the league leaders in Norway’s Eliteserien but they were beaten at Sarpsborg 08 in their last outing.

The pacesetters saw a five-game winning streak ended by Sarpsborg and the manner of that loss will be as much of a concern to coach Erling Moe.  MFK managed just one attempt over the course of the 90 minutes, despite Sarpsborg being reduced to 10-men late on.

Mid-table Odd could prove to be tough opponents for Molde on Sunday as they arrive at the Aker Stadion in good form with three wins and two draws in their last five games.

The Oddrane have enjoyed some success against the better teams in the division this season and have claimed four points from three games against the top four. Odd beat Bodo/Glimt at home, then lost at Kristiansund before drawing at Valerenga in a three-game spell between the end of May and mid-June in their three games against the current top four.  

Molde have five wins in six games at home and the loss at Sarpsborg shouldn’t detract from a strong start to the season, but Odd are in fine fettle themselves and we feel they may be able to claim a point on Sunday and 1-1 could be the way to go in the correct score market.
