Well fancied for comfortable success

Motherwell have won two and drawn one of their three Scottish League Cup games and they took two points for the stalemate after getting the better of Queen of the South on penalties.

The top flight side conceded three in that match but have kept a pair of clean sheets either side of that with wins over Elgin City and Queen’s Park. They look likely to make their class felt again as they tune up for the beginning of the Premiership season, which they begin with a visit to Dundee.

Five of the Well’s last six wins have been to nil and they can rack up another comfortable win against these League Two opponents.

East Fife likely to struggle

East Fife have had a solid start to their campaign, unbeaten in their last four. A penalty shootout win over Queen’s Park was followed by a 3-1 win over Elgin City and a friendly victory against Fraserburgh and another penalty shootout win against Queen of the South.

Despite those victories, Motherwell is a step up on that level of opposition and they’ve only netted in one of their three League Cup matches so far.
