Goals expected in Parma

There should be goals when Parma host Roma at Ennio Tardini in Serie A on Sunday. Roma have found the net in nine of their last ten league games and Parma’s recent games have featured plenty of goals, which points to over 2.5 goals for the bet.

Roma are nine places above Parma in the table and have won 14 points more than the hosts. The visitors sit ninth with nine wins, seven draws and eight losses, while Parma are 18th with four wins, eight draws and 12 defeats.

Roma come into this game in good form, having won four of their last six Serie A matches and on a run of two straight away victories. They have also recorded five wins in the last seven head-to-heads with Parma, who are without a win in six league games.

Parma lost 2-1 to Cagliari on Sunday, conceding with their only shot on target, in their third consecutive Serie A game with over 2.5 goals. Parma were priced at 14/5 to win the game.

Both teams are struggling defensively, which could lead to plenty of goals. Parma have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in five straight league games and Roma have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven.

There have been three goals or more in four of the last six Serie A head-to-heads between these two sides, which also points to another high-scoring game, including a 5-0 victory for Roma over Parma in December.

Roma have won their last two away games and, having been single-goal winners in two of their last three matches, a 2-1 win for the visitors looks the most likely correct score. 

Eight of Parma’s 12 defeats coming by the odd goal adds further weight to this outcome.
