Reason For Parma vs Roma Predictions

  • Roma have failed to beat any of Serie A’s top eight this season.
  • The hosts have won six of their last nine at home.
  • Parma have won five of their last seven home Coppa Italia games, scoring 17 times.
  • Roma have conceded 2+ goals in their last four away trips in this competition.

Can Parma Boost Great Campaign?

The final Coppa Italia clash of the round sees Roma heading to Parma for the second time this season. The Giallorossi are hoping to land an important victory, while they need to end their wait for silverware. However, for Parma this is a chance to build on a great campaign.

The hosts are up to seventh in the table, only two spots behind Roma as things stand. That has put them on course for Europe in the league, but Parma could make a real push for this competition, as they dream of rolling back the years to their glory days; back when they won this competition three times between 1992 and 2002.

Roma’s Problems on the Road

Roma have had their problems against strong sides this season, so Parma’s good campaign is bad news for the visitors. The Giallorossi have failed to win home or away against any of the top eight this season, following their loss to Juventus at the weekend. That includes a 2-0 defeat at Parma this term, with the hosts winning six of their last nine here.

Meanwhile, Roma’s record in the Coppa Italia doesn’t inspire much confidence. The visitors come here having lost their last three away trips in this competition, including an incredible 7-1 mauling at the hands of Fiorentina last term.

For one of Italy’s biggest sides, a run of four wins in 90 minutes from 11 cup games is quite disappointing. Now they are on the road to a Parma side who have built up momentum at home.

Parma’s Cup Credentials

The hosts have won five of their last seven home Coppa Italia games, which sets them up for a good result in this clash. Parma have won here in the previous two rounds, while they’ve found the net 17 times across those seven outings. In the last seven years, their exit from this competition has come at home just twice, so we think Parma can get a result.

When you consider their records this season, their recent meeting and their previous form in this competition, the value in Parma becomes obvious. We feel they can pull off a result on Thursday night. They are well priced in both the Double Chance and Draw No Bet markets; but instead, we’re taking them on the full-time result market, with just 10% of Parma’s home league games finishing level and only one of their last 10 in the cup.

With Parma conceding in their last six home games in the cup, we’re backing them to concede in victory here. They should be strong enough to go through after letting in a goal, as Roma have conceded twice in their last four trips in the Coppa Italia. When you consider Parma’s scoring record in this competition and the fact they’ve scored twice in five of their last eight at home, a 2-1 home win looks like a good pick for the correct score market.
