New England Revolution vs FC Dallas Predictions
New England Revolution are heading towards another average looking season at the moment. They have found it incredibly difficult to win matches this season, with their 2-0 win over bottom of the table Chicago Fire last weekend being just their 2nd of the season.
Their first win came against New York Red Bulls when the Supporters Shield Champions were badly out of form, and their other ten matches have resulted in a league high seven draws and three defeats.
This puts them in a mediocre 6th position in the Eastern Conference, and if they carry on this way I wouldn’t expect them to improve on their 5th place finish in the table last season.
FC Dallas have been touted as the favourites to take New York Red Bulls’ Supporters Shield this season, but they have faced some difficulties of their own.
They have managed to win seven of their 13 matches so far, a record which puts them 2nd in the MLS Western Conference and just a point behind Colorado Rapid. All but two of the teams in the Western Conference have at least one game in hand on them though.
However, FC Dallas have really struggled to pick up points on the road this season. They recently endured a three match losing streak in the MLS, with all of those defeats being away from home. This, added on to their early season humiliation at Houston Dynamo, takes their away record to two wins and four defeats on the road this year.
Their performance just seems to take a nosedive when they visit teams. They have failed to score in each of their last three away games and have conceded 14 goals on the road this season.
This awful defensive record has resulted in five of their six away days having at least three goals scored. Meanwhile, New England Revolution are unbeaten at home this season and have seen more than two goals netted in half of their matches so far this season. This makes odds of 10/11 for Over 2.5 Goals look attractive, and I’m backing that along with a 2-2 draw at 14/1.
