Draw

Reason for tip

Four of the last six head-to-heads between these two have ended in stalemate and after two impressive performances to start the group stages from two of the biggest teams in the tournament, this could be the same.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Five of the last six meetings between these two teams have gone under 2.5 goals and this could be another cagey affair, side with a 1-1 draw for correct score purposes.

Nigeria vs Tunisia Predictions

  • Four of the last six head-to-heads have ended in stalemate
  • Both teams have scored in six of Nigeria’s last seven games
  • Under 2.5 goals has landed in five of the last six meetings between the two

Competitive affair likely

Nigeria and Tunisia both kick started their Africa Cup of Nations campaigns with a win but there may be little to split the two Group C heavyweights in their second clash.

The Super Eagles were 2-1 winners over Tanzania, showing their full weight of their attacking talents as they took 21 shots, 11 of which were on target.

Eric Chelle’s side are looking to bounce back after a disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign in which they were knocked out on penalties by Congo DR.

After getting off to a solid start against Tanzania they are likely to find things much tougher against Tunisia, who were 3-1 winners over Uganda in their opener. The Eagles of Carthage were comfortable in that win, Elisa Achouri netting a double after Ellyes Skhiri opened the scoring after ten minutes. A late consolation for Uganda couldn’t take the shine off what was a dominant victory which should set them up perfectly for this game.

Nigeria are narrow favourites but these two big guns may be forced to share the spoils. Four of the last seven head-to-heads have finished as a draw and this could be the latest to follow suit.

Both teams have scored in six of Nigeria’s last seven games and a 1-1 correct score is the selection.
