Northampton vs Coventry Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Two teams who’ve struggled to win matches of late, or pretty much all campaign, hardly stands out as the most inspiring fixture of the weekend, but there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic about the chances of the hosts ahead of this one.

At odds of 6/5, backing ‘Northampton to Win’ is the bet to be on. This match represents an excellent opportunity for the hosts to put an end to their poor run at home.

Northampton may well come into this match having lost five home matches in a row, but the fixture list hasn’t exactly been kind to them during that time –throwing up Fleetwood, Bolton, Scunthorpe, Bradford and Peterborough. However, you look at it, it’s a tough run for any team. Having scored in three of those, The Cobblers were not beaten by more than a single goal at any point during that run and were particularly unlucky on a couple of occasions.

Considering just how poor Coventry have been on their travels for the majority of this campaign, it’s certainly not hard to think Northampton can come out on top here. The visitors have lost ten of their 13 away matches this season, scoring just ten and conceding no less than 27. Against a team who’ve actually looked decent going forward recently, such defensive figures do not bode well.

Northampton’s form of late can be slightly misleading and they’re fancied to show themselves in a much better light against a Coventry side who’re looking more like a cert for relegation with each passing week.
