Tip Reasoning

  • Norwich have lost their last 12 Premier League games, scoring just one goal in total.
  • Five of Leicester’s last seven competitive wins have been to nil.
  • The Canaries have managed just three shots on target in the Premier League this season.

Canaries tough run continues

Norwich enjoyed a much-needed confidence boost in midweek as they tore Bournemouth apart in the EFL Cup but that has done little to dispel the question marks surrounding their Premier League pedigree.

The Canaries took the Championship by storm last season but their return to the top flight hasn’t gone well so far, with heavy defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City leaving them bottom of the table. Admittedly this is about the hardest start to a season you can get, but a home match against Leicester won’t exactly be a walk in the park either.

Foxes to bounce back on Saturday

Norwich might yet surprise us but I don’t expect them to do so on Saturday as they face a Leicester side that have narrowly missed out on a top four spot in each of the last two seasons.

The Foxes were outwitted at the London Stadium last weekend and fell to a heavy 4-1 loss but wins over Wolves and Manchester City this season show that the quality is still there for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Hosts’ goalscoring issues are key

Norwich’s two league games so far have yielded just three shots on target in total for them and they’re facing a Leicester side who know how to defend, although you wouldn’t know it from their trip to West Ham last time out. I expect a much better showing from the Foxes here and a Leicester win looks excellent value.

I’m also backing a clean sheet in the correct score prediction due to Norwich’s seeming lack of bite in the final third. Five of Leicester’s last seven competitive wins have been to nil so a 2-0 scoreline wouldn’t be a surprise to see.

Norwich predicted lineup: Krul; Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Williams; Gilmour, McLean, Rupp; Cantwell, Tzolis, Pukki

Leicester predicted lineup: Schmeichel; Pereira, Amartey, Soyuncu, Castagne; Ndidi, Tielemans, Albrighton, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
