NS Mura vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

  • Spurs have got some momentum after victory against Leeds on Sunday.
  • Mura have lost all four of their Europa Conference League matches this season.
  • Spurs have kept two consecutive away clean sheets.

Spurs can shut out Mura to seal passage

Tottenham can seal qualification for the knockout phase and maintain some of the momentum they have gained from the appointment of Antonio Conte by beating NS Mura on Thursday.

Spurs came from behind to register Conte’s first win in charge against Leeds last weekend and it would be a huge shock if they were to fail to beat their  opponents in Europe’s third tier competition.

The Italian may make a few changes here to assess fringe members of his squad, but they could also see this as a chance to impress a new coach who is yet to make up his mind fully over his best starting line-up. Conte’s predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo needed to bring Harry Kane off the bench to kill off the spirited Slovenians in the first encounter between these at Tottenham Stadium in September.

Black and Whites’ form not hard to read

The Black and Whites entered that game with only one defeat in their previous six, but matters have taken a turn for the worse for them since then. Ante Šimundža’s men are currently winless in six with four defeats, including a cup exit on a penalty-shoot, during that time as their goal production has dried up.

They have failed to score in two of their last three contests and only managed to register twice in their four Conference League games – all defeats – so far.

Hence, we are taking Spurs to win to nil on a night when Conte is bound to emphasise defensive structure first.

Tottenham have actually kept clean sheets in their last two away trips – to Burnley and Everton – so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see it happen again here. Our belief is that Spurs use all their European knowhow to come away with a 1-0 win that may not require Kane to come off the bench.
