Olympiacos vs Fenerbahce Predictions

Olympiacos a win from qualifying

Olympiacos have been in strong form of late, winning ten of their last thirteen games in all competitions. Another victory here will be enough to see them through to the knock-out stages for the fourth year running.

They look a good bet to pick up three points in this one, especially as they comfortably won the reverse fixture in Turkey 3-0, while they have lost just two of their last eight home fixtures in European football.

Panithanikos are the only team to prevent Pedro Martins’ side from scoring over a 13 match streak, so you would expect them to cause significant problems to a Fenerbahce side who find clean sheets hard to come by.

Fenerbahce must win

Despite beating Antwerp in their last Europa League outing, defeat here will knock Fenerbahce out of the competition, and it is difficult to see how they will topple Olympiacos.

That victory over Antwerp, who sit bottom of the group, was the first time the Turkish outfit have won an away game in the group stages of European competition since the 2016/17.

On top of that, Vito Pereira’s side have kept just one clean sheet in their last 14 outings, conceding 20 goals in the process, pointing to just how difficult a task they face in this fixture.

Their chink of hope comes from a recent run of two wins in three matches, but Olmpiacos have already shown they are the better of the two sides this season, and I expect them to do so again with a 2-0 win.
