      Olympiakos vs F91 Dudelange Predictions

Olympiakos are still very much in the race for the top two places in Europa League Group F as they gear up to take on Dudelange on Thursday at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

The Greek giants are within touching distance of top spot, with just three points separating them from Real Betis at the summit. With the Spaniards playing second place AC Milan on Thursday, Olympiakos have a great chance to close the gap.

Olympiakos Europa League Group campaign has been something of a mixed bag so far. The Greeks drew 0-0 with Real Betis on matchday one before they were swept aside 3-1 by AC Milan in Italy on matchday two a couple of weeks later.

Their first and only Group F win so far came in Luxembourg against their opponents on Thurdsay, Dudelange. The 2-0 win Olympiakos secured on October 25th set Pedro Martins’ side off on a four-match winning streak.

That quartet of successive wins was made all the more positive by the fact that Olympiakos managed to keep clean sheets in each contest. The Greeks played three of those fixtures on the road too, adding to the impressiveness of their run.

At the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium this season, Olympiakos have been extremely difficult to play against. They have only been beaten once in nine competitive matches there in 2018/19 and even more remarkably, they have shipped just three goals in the process.

On Thursday, their watertight defence comes up against a Dudelange team still waiting for their first Group F goal. Dino Toppmöller’s men have averaged nearly three goals per game domestically this season, though they have struggled to match that attacking output on the continent.

Dudelange have lost all three of their group matches so far, though they have at least made life difficult for their opponents. The Luxembourgian outfit conceded six times in across their three defeats in total, however, it’s worth noting that 100% of those goals arrived in the second half of their respective fixtures.

That suggests that Dudelange are a nut that takes a while to crack. Olympiakos aren’t exactly a free scoring side – they have averaged just one goal per game in their last twelve contests since mid-September.

We shouldn’t expect a deluge of goals on Thursday then, and when the goals do eventually come, they are likely to arrive in the second half. With that considered, we recommend backing more goals to be scored in the second forty-five.

Once Olympiakos break the deadlock, the game should open up sufficiently enough for them to grab another. Our correct score prediction tips Olympiakos to replicate the score they secured in Luxembourg last month. We’re going for a 2-0 home win.
