Partick vs Celtic Predictions
Partick Thistle began their Scottish Premier League campaign with a boredraw away to Hamilton last weekend, which is a result which will seem like a mediocre start to the season for both teams.
It’s only a week into the season and Partick Thistle are already looking like the draw specialists they were last season.
They have drawn each of their last 4 matches (including friendlies), and have collected a single point in 3 of their last 4 Premier League matches.
They ended with the 2nd most draws of any team in the league last season, and will need to start going all out and looking for the wins if they are to improve on their 8th place finish last campaign.
Celtic also played out a goalless draw in their last fixture, a 0-0 draw with Qarabag which allowed them to progress in the Champions League thanks to a 1-0 aggregate victory over the Azerbaijanis.
However, unlike Partick Thistle, they managed to win their opening game of the domestic season, beating Ross County by a comfortable 2-0 scoreline thanks to 2 first half goals.
To be honest, most pundits and tipsters think that the Scottish Premier League is pretty much guaranteed to end up at Celtic Park yet again this season, and I’m not going to disagree with that.
Their squad is far superior to any other in the league, and despite a shaky first half of the season last year Ronny Deila’s new tactical approach finally paid off.
Before their 0-0 draw with Qarabag, they had won each of their last 7 matches and have only lost 1 of their last 16 fixtures.
Partick Thistle have shown that they have found it difficult to score recently, and with Celtic’s defence I think that odds of 11/10 for Celtic to Win to Nil are excellent value.
