Peterborough vs Cardiff Predictions
- Cardiff City are unbeaten in their last eight Championship games (W3, D5), winning three of their last five.
- The Bluebirds have lost just one of their last 13 away trips in the league, winning seven.
City too strong for The Posh
Cardiff City are likely to be in the Play-off mix this season and they should prove to be too good for newly promoted Peterborough United at Weston Homes Stadium this Tuesday night.
The Bluebirds finished the 2020/21 campaign strongly under Mick McCarthy to wind up just outside of the top six and they’ve started the new season in solid fashion. They shared the points via a 1-1 draw in a decent opening day contest against Barnsley, before outclassing Blackpool in the second half at Bloomfield Road on Saturday to win 0-2.
City take on another of the newly promoted teams here and they’re impossible to oppose based on the somewhat comparable opposition which they accounted for on Saturday and they’re general form stretching back to the end of last term.
McCarthy’s men are unbeaten in their last eight Championship games, winning three of their last five, while their form on the road since February has been superb. City have lost just one of their last 13 away trips, with seven of those ending in victory.
Peterborough got their first Championship win on the board on Saturday, though there’s probably little merit in their slender 2-1 success against crisis club Derby County. The Posh were well beaten 3-0 by Luton Town on the opening weekend and we expect more of the same here, with the visitors fancied to land the spoils via a 0-2 score-line.
