We fancy Luton to upset the odds and claim at least a point when they travel to Portsmouth in their opening match of 2016 and to back them under the double chance option is available at 10/11. For our correct score tip we can’t see a lot to separate the two sides so are backing a Luton to come out on top with a 2-1 victory at 12/1 with the same site.

Pompey were among the favourites to claim the League Two title come the end of the season, but as we enter into 2017 they find themselves with a bit of catching up to do. They currently find themselves nine points off the pace and having failed to beat any of the three sides above them in the matches played so far it looks as though they have some issues playing sides of higher quality in the division.

Luton go into this fixture having signed off 2016 in extremely positive fashion, they are undefeated in their previous seven away games and have managed to keep four clean sheets in the process. The Hatters are just one place below their hosts in the league and will be keen to avenge the clinical 3-1 defeat inflicted on them when the sides last met in November.

It’s a fixture that also sees the top two defences in League Two clash, so goals are likely to be at a premium. Although we were tempted to tip both teams to score given the strength of both the strike forces, we think the double chance represents a greater chance of success.
