Portugal can all but guarantee top spot in Euro 2024 qualifying Group J with a win over second-placed Slovakia and they should do so with ease after a phenomenal qualifying campaign so far.

Roberto Martinez took charge of The Navigators in January and has enjoyed a perfect start, winning all six Euro 2024 qualifiers and not conceding a single goal.

Fernandes can punish Slovakia again

Their last outing was a 9-0 demolition of Luxembourg, taking their goal tally to 24 in Martinez’s six matches in charge. This includes a 1-0 win in Slovakia courtesy of a Bruno Fernandes goal and the Manchester United midfielder could find himself on the scoresheet again on Friday.

The 29-year-old has scored four goals and assisted four more in his last four appearances for Portugal and could punish Slovakia again on Friday.

Slovakia have been impressive so far, only dropping points in two of their six games. However, they have lost four of their last five meetings with Portugal and have failed to score in each of those defeats. Given Portugal’s impenetrable defence under Martinez, a Portugal win to nil alongside a 2-0 correct score prediction looks an excellent choice.
