Go for goals in Le Classique

The latest instalment of Le Classique takes place on Sunday as Marseille head to the capital seeking a first league double over PSG since the 2009/10 season.

L’OM won the first meeting 1-0 back in September but PSG triumphed on penalties when these sides last met in the Super Cup, after a 2-2 draw.

Goals could be on the agenda in Paris and over 3.5 in total looks the best starting point here. There have been at least four goals scored in five of Marseille’s last eight games across all competitions, with three being scored in all of the other games.

The visitors have the best attack in Ligue 1 with 46 goals scored in 20 games, while PSG aren’t far behind with 43 scored.

PSG’s games haven’t been quite as entertaining but both teams have scored in three of their last four, so both of these teams look capable of adding to the total.

PSG can claim the spoils

Marseille need to win if they are to keep their slim title hopes alive and as they are unbeaten in normal time against PSG this season they should be able to compete in Paris, but home advantage could prove key.

PSG have won their last four home games against Marseille and have only lost one of the last 17 meetings between these two sides in Paris. PSG can win what could be a thriller and a 3-2 home win appeals in the correct score market, as PSG score on average 2.4 goals per-game at home.

Ousmane Dembele started on the bench against Strasbourg last time out but should come back into the PSG starting line-up on Sunday. Dembele has five goals in his last six starts and stands out as a candidate for an anytime effort.
