QPR vs Everton Predictions

  • After a strong start to the season, QPR have picked up just one point from their last three league games.
  • Everton won four of their first five games this term (D1) prior to their weekend defeat at Aston Villa.
  • QPR have scored in all ten of their games across all competitions this season, while Everton have maintained just one clean sheet in six.

Toffees to get back on track

Everton were dealt a reality check on Saturday as their unbeaten start to the campaign was ended at Villa Park, but the Toffees can regain the winning thread when they face QPR in the third round of the Carabao Cup this week.

The Toffees’ comprehensive 3-0 loss to Villa came as something of a surprise considering how strong they have looked in the opening weeks of the season under new boss Rafael Benitez, with their first five games in all competitions yielding four wins (D1) including a battling 2-1 success at Huddersfield Town in the previous round.

Benitez will view this competition as a very realistic opportunity to seal Everton’s first silverware since their FA Cup triumph in 1995 and they should prove too good for Championship opposition again here if putting their best foot forward.

QPR similarly began the season well, though things have slightly hit the buffers for the Superhoops over the past fortnight or so.

Mark Warburton’s men amassed 11 points from their first five league games and eased past Oxford United 2-0 at Loftus Road in the second round, but they’ve since picked up just one point from their last three Championship outings, losing their last two including a 2-1 reverse here against Bristol City on Saturday.

Overall, Everton appear worthy favourites for this clash and we’re tipping up an away victory this Tuesday at a shade of odds-on. QPR have managed to score in all ten of their games across all competitions this term though, so with Everton maintaining just one clean sheet in six, 1-2 is our correct score prediction.
