QPR vs Rochdale Predictions
QPR’s season so far has been a tale of two very different weeks. They won their opening two league games in impressive fashion, netting 5 goals without conceding either side of a League Cup win over Swindon on penalties. However, the last 7 days have been much less satisfactory. They were leading 2-1 going into the final 15 minutes at Oakwell but conceded twice late on to fall to a 3-2 defeat against Barnsley. Worse came on Saturday when they were beaten 2-0 at home by a Preston side that had failed to collect any points prior to this.
They will want to get back on track here with a more solid performance at home against lower league opposition, and the players that come in will suddenly think they have a chance of breaking into Hasselbaink’s first choice eleven for the league game at Wigan this weekend.
Rochdale haven’t had a great start to the season with their 3-1 win over Chesterfield in the 1st Round the only real bright-spot. They are sitting in the League One relegation zone with just 1 point to their name, although they have had some tricky opening games against some of the promotion favourites. All of their games have been close and they come into this following successive 1-0 defeats against Port Vale and MK Dons.
If anything, those two recent defeats for QPR are likely to make them more focused here. They did a lot of things right at both ends of the pitch in their opening couple of games and they need to get back to that here. Their personnel may be changed considerably from the weekend game but they should have enough quality to see off Rochdale and backing QPR to win 1-0 at 6/1 looks to offer some value in the correct score market.
