Rangers vs Hibernian Predictions
- Rangers have won 10 of their last 11 home league games with at least three goals in eight
- Hibernian have lost five of their six matches against the Old Firm this season with at least three goals in four
- James Tavernier has scored in three of his last four Premiership appearances and four of his last eight appearances against Hibs
Rangers’ focus returns to domestic matters
Rangers will look to keep the pressure on leaders Celtic when they return to Premiership action with a home game against Hibernian on Saturday.
Phillipe Clement’s side lost when they were last in league action against Motherwell to give the initiative back to Celtic. But with two Old Firm games to come and only one point between the Glasgow rivals, it is all still in the Light Blues’ hands.
That defeat came a few days before a trip to Lisbon to face Benfica in the Europa League, but that distraction is now over after they bowed out over two legs.
Hibs can play their part in opening up the game
The Gers’ domestic form is very good and they should be able to repeat the comfortable victory they enjoyed over Hibs when they beat them in the cup earlier this month.
Clement’s side had double the amount of shots and almost twice as much possession as the home side, although those stats are skewed by the fact that Hibs went down to ten men in the 68th minute and nine a few minutes later.
Nick Montgomery’s side pulled men back behind the ball when it became an uphill struggle, but they will fired up and out for revenge in this fixture. That should make it an open and entertaining contest and one with at least three goals for the fans to enjoy – as four of Hibs’ six games against Old Firm clubs this season have provided.
