- Real Madrid have won the last two El Classico’s including October’s 1-3 success at Camp Nou.
- Los Blancos are unbeaten in their last dozen games across all competitions, winning ten.
- Three of the last four meetings have produced under 2.5 goals, while the two sides have conceded just 57 goals between them in La Liga this term.
Real Madrid have won the last two El Classico encounters and Los Blancos are the value pick at around 2/1 for this Saturday’s latest instalment at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.
The lack of crowd involvement has effectively cancelled out home advantage in so many games this season and that’s certainly applicable here. Zinedine Zidane’s side won’t have the raucous Madridistas in their corner, while the current switch away from the Bernabeu also gives this usually huge occasion a rather understated feel.
Nonetheless, Los Blancos have adapted well to playing at their training ground, winning six of their last seven here in all competitions, including a facile 3-1 Champions League triumph over Liverpool in midweek.
Barca have undoubtedly got better throughout the campaign and appear to be a much more consistent and potent outfit than the one which succumbed to PSG in Europe, though it’s the hosts who seem better equipped to dig out a result when needed.
With three of the last four meetings producing under 2.5 goals, Saturday’s El Classico should be another tight battle and we’re narrowly favouring Madrid to edge it at the prices.
Aside from the obvious prestige and rivalry which this contest brings, both teams done extremely well to hunt down long time leaders Atletico Madrid and know that a victory this weekend could be what eventually lands them the title.
Barca are currently two points ahead of Real in the three way scrap, but it’s Los Blancos for us this Saturday at a very generous price and we’re backing the champions to land the spoils via a 1-0 score-line – a result which could see them draw level with Atleti at the head of affairs come the end of the weekend.
