Sociedad looking to bounce back

Real Sociedad are going through a bit of a rocky period, losing three of their last four games, although a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Thursday was enough to still claim top spot in their Europa League group.

Imanol Alguacil’s side have failed to score in each of those defeats, but in 18 outings this season, they are the only three fixtures in which they have not netted.

Both teams have scored in only seven of those matches, but four have come from nine home games, while they have managed just three clean sheets at Anoeta.

Valencia searching for points

It’s been a steady if not spectacular start to the campaign for Valencia, who really need to up their game on the road after just one win in five away fixtures.

Four of those games on their travels have seen both teams score, with Gennaro Gattuso’s side failing to net just once, in a 1-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid.

They also fired blanks last time out, a 1-0 defeat at home to Barcelona, but they head to Sociedad having seen both teams net in five of their last six.
