      Rennes To Win To Nil

      Reason for tip

Rennes have won three on the bounce under new head coach Franck Haise, with all of those victories being accompanied by clean sheets. Lille have lacked a cutting edge since the turn of the year, and with the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie against Aston Villa to come next midweek, they may go down with a whimper at Roazhon Park.

      Rennes 2-0

      Reason for tip

Rennes were 2-0 winners when these sides met at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in January’s reverse fixture and they can replicate that success back on home soil where they have been averaging almost two goals-per-game, netting 23 across their 12 league matches to date at Roazhon Park.

      Rennes vs Lille Predictions

      • Rennes have won all three of their matches under Franck Haise
      • Les Rennais were 2-0 winners at Lille when the teams last met in January
      • Lille have scored a maximum of one goal in 13 of their last 16 away fixtures

      Rennes improving with Haise

Rennes parted ways with Habib Beye last month and recorded an eye-catching 3-1 success over Paris Saint-Germain in their next game with Sebastien Tambouret in interim charge.

Franck Haise was then appointed as the club’s new permanent head coach and he has overseen three successive victories, each accompanied by a clean sheet.

Haise will now be looking to make it four wins to nil on the bounce when Lille, who Rennes beat 2-0 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy back in January, make the trip west and the visitors may have other things on their mind.

      Europa League distraction for visitors

This fixture comes at an awkward time for Lille, who have the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with Aston Villa to come on Thursday after losing this week’s first leg 1-0 on home soil.

Scoring goals has been an issue for LOSC of late, as they have only netted more than once in one of their last 16 games, failing to notch at all in six of those fixtures.

Having failed to score in the home fixture against Rennes, Lille may suffer another frustrating evening when they visit Roazhon Park where their hosts have only lost twice all season.
