Republic of Ireland to Win and Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Ireland come into this friendly after a disappointing Euro 2024 qualification campaign and they may struggle to lift themselves for this clash. They should still have too much for New Zealand, who have won just two of their last ten matches and they have been beaten without scoring in five of those fixtures, so back a low-scoring win for the hosts.

Republic of Ireland 1-0

Reason for tip

One goal may be all it takes to win this match so Ireland to win 1-0 looks the best course of action for correct-score punters.

Republic Of Ireland vs New Zealand Predictions

  • Ireland won the only meeting between these two teams 3-1 in a 2019 friendly match
  • Ireland have only lost one of their last nine friendly matches
  • New Zealand have failed to score in five of their last seven away games

Ireland to continue impressive friendly form

Ireland have missed out on qualification for next summer’s European Championship finals in Germany and motivation could be lacking for this friendly contest with New Zealand on Tuesday.

A tough-looking group proved just that for Ireland who will finish fourth in a section topped by France, with Netherland set to finish second and Greece in third place.

Ireland will be hugely disappointed not to have secured a Play-Off place at the very least and their 1-0 loss at the hands of the Dutch in Amsterdam on Saturday brought the curtain down on a miserable qualifying campaign for the Boys in Green.

Just two wins have come in qualifying with only nine goals scored, and it will be hard to see how they can lift themselves for this week’s fixture.

New Zealand lacking away from home

It was 3-1 when these two last met in 2019 but a repeat scoreline looks highly unlikely this week.

New Zealand have won just two of their last ten matches and they have been beaten without scoring in five of those fixtures.

One goal may be all it takes to win this match so Ireland to win 1-0 looks the best course of action for correct-score punters.
