Romania to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Romania, who have won four of their last seven games, should overcome a Belarus team that have lost four of their last six matches. But don’t expect a walkover win here as Belarus have avoided defeat by more than two goals in 11 of their last 12 internationals and hit the crossbar against Switzerland on Saturday.

Romania 2-0

Reason for tip

Belarus have bagged in six of their last eight away assignments, but looked deflated after their 5-0 loss to Switzerland. The two sides’ recent trajectories suggest a 2-0 victory could be on hand with Belarus still licking their wounds from Saturday’s stinging defeat.

Romania vs Belarus Predictions

  • Romania have won four of their last seven games
  • Belarus have lost four of their last six matches
  • Belarus have avoided defeat by more than two goals in 11 of their last 12 internationals

Regulation win for Romania

Romania are likely to double up with another Euro 2024 qualifying win when they face a beaten and bruised Belarus in Bucharest on Tuesday.
Georgy Kondratyev’s side were spanked by Switzerland in Saturday’s ‘home’ opener in Serbia, although they wasted a golden chance to break the deadlock before the Swiss fired in the first of their five goals. The White Wings had no answer to Nati’s slick football, which has taken them to the brink of the top 10 in Fifa’s world rankings.
Romania, ranked outside the top 50, are nowhere near as dangerous or clinical and could struggle to put a battling Belarus side to bed even with the backing of their home fans. But they have won four of their last seven games and appear to be growing in confidence as a new guard reaches it’s peak.

White Wings tend to keep things close

Romania have won by more than one goal in only two of their last 11 home games, which is why it may be best to support them at the match result price and shun the options to take Belarus on via a handicap bet. Kondratyev’s men have kept things close in a number of recent games before tailing off late on, which may be how this one pans out too.

The recommendation of Romania to win with at least two goals in the game gives some scope for the hosts to overcome the concession of a goal, which could be possible given Belarus have bagged in six of their last eight away assignments. The two sides’ recent trajectories suggest a 2-0 victory could be on hand with Belarus still licking their wounds from Saturday’s stinging defeat to the Swiss.
