New boys will fancy themselves

Dundee United will be delighted to be back in the top flight of Scottish football and, after a 2-2 at home to city rivals Dundee in their opening match last week, we could be in for more of the same when they make a trip to the Highlands to face Ross.

United were pegged back by a penalty for the Dark Blues last week, but there will be a sense that the Championship winners will want to prove themselves at this new level and this represents a good test.

Ross had to come through the playoffs last season to maintain their top-flight status and they will be desperate to avoid a repeat of that performance.

Home form will be key to that, so we can anticipate that they will be a lot more attacking than they were in earning a creditable goalless draw at Motherwell in their opener last week.

Entertaining draw could materialise

There have been plenty of goals in these two outfit’s games, not only in the league, but also in the League Cup which has allowed both outfits to build up a head of steam.
