Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Salford have kept only one clean sheet in their last six matches in all competitions while Leyton Orient have shipped 18 goals in their last nine away games. Both teams have scored in six of Leyton Orient’s last nine away games and also in three of the last five meetings between these sides.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Although Leyton Orient have been prone to conceding four goals on the road, which they have done three times in the last nine trips, they usually only allow one or two goals in the league. Against lower-division opponents, they may be able to keep Salford down to one, but the Ammies usually score at home. Back a 1-1 draw here, which was the score in Salford’s first round encounter with a decent Lincoln side.

Salford City vs Leyton Orient Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in three of the last five meetings between these sides

Ammies have a chance against inconsistent O’s

Two clubs that faced Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup and fared very differently clash in the second round on Friday when League Two Salford City host League One Leyton Orient at Moor Lane.

The Ammies, who edged past League One promotion-chasers Lincoln in the previous round, will be hoping home advantage can help them spring another surprise against higher-tier opposition. The odds are pretty close in this one, though, because the O’s have lost four of their last five road trips in the league.

Richie Wellens’ men did dig in to beat National League Tamworth 1-0 in the first round and their general form has taken an upturn since then with two wins, a draw and a defeat to in-form Wycombe.

Both teams to score the best bet

Salford’s defensive record will be a concern to Karl Robinson as his side have managed only one clean sheet in their last six outings and they will need to tighten up to keep League ONe’s highest scorers at bay.

The head-to-head record between these two clubs suggests goals at both ends. Three of the last five meetings have seen both teams score, and with Salford’s leaky defence and Orient’s attacking intent, a repeat looks likely.

A 1-1 draw looks a plausible outcome, with both sides likely to find the net but neither able to fully dominate.
