Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

The German side have been excellent at home domestically and are unbeaten across their last 11 such games. They won eight of those but the toughest aspect will be preventing Juventus from finding the back of the net. The Italians should be out of sight after dominating the first leg and they can find their way onto the scoresheet here. With that in mind, both teams to score makes appeal.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Juventus have a knack of keeping things tight away from home and they’ll know that a draw would be enough to see them through. However, they could be without some important players and preventing Freiburg from scoring at home could be a tricky task. But Juventus more often than not find a way through and if they go behind, you can guarantee they’ll find a way back into it. It looks like a close game on paper and a 1-1 draw would not be a surprise.

SC Freiburg vs Juventus Predictions

  • In the Bundesliga, Freiburg have scored in all but one of their home games.
  • Both teams have scored in seven of the hosts last eight home matches.
  • Juventus have hit the back of the net in nine of their last ten road fixtures.

Home comforts for Freiburg

On home soil in the Bundesliga, Freiburg have been formidable and have secured a club record of 11 games unbeaten. They’ve won eight of those and they’ll hope to draw on that confidence when they try and overturn a 1-0 deficit against Juventus on Thursday. In truth, they are lucky that it is only 1-0 and a big improvement is needed at the Europa-Park Stadion.

The visitors emerged as 4-2 victors over Sampdoria at the weekend and they managed that without star player Angel Di Maria. He’s been vital in this competition having scored four times across his last two Europa League matches. It remains to be seen if he will be in contention here but the Old Lady will also be without Federico Chiesa and Leonardo Bonucci.

Each side to get opportunities

Juventus should’ve scored more in the first leg but they have what it takes to get on the scoresheet at least. However, the hosts need to come out firing and given how strong they have been in front of their home fans this term, they should find a way through. As such, we’ll side with both teams scoring.
