      Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Denmark have scored 14 goals across their last four qualifiers but have conceded in consecutive games against Greece and Belarus. With three or more goals being scored in each of Scotland’s last three, the goals should flow at Hampden.

      Denmark 2-1

      Reason for tip

Scotland’s results have generally been better than their performances in this group and they may be left exposed if they need to chase the game. Denmark are certainly capable of picking them off and can claim a narrow 2-1 success.

      Scotland vs Denmark Predictions

      • Scotland’s last three matches have featured a combined 12 goals.
      • Denmark have scored 14 goals across their last four qualifiers.
      • The Scots will top the group if they win this game while the Danes just need a draw.

      Scots handed second chance

Scotland and Denmark both fluffed their lines in their penultimate matches in Group C, leaving it all to play for when the two teams meet at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

The Scots were beaten 3-2 in Greece on Saturday, but their hopes of topping the group and securing automatic qualification for a first World Cup since 1998 remain after Denmark were surprisingly held 2-2 on home soil by Belarus.

Steve Clarke’s side are one point behind the Danes heading into this game, meaning they need to win to finish top, and that could make for an open contest, especially as both teams showed defensive deficiencies last time out.

      Hosts to come up short

These two sides drew 0-0 in their opening group contest back in September, but the goals have tended to flow for both since then.

Denmark have scored 14 goals in their subsequent four qualifiers but have conceded in each of their last two, while over 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in each of Scotland’s last three, all of which have featured both teams finding the back of the net.

Scotland’s need for the win means they may have to force the issue, but their results have been better than their performances have suggested and Denmark could pick them off and edge to a 2-1 victory that will take them to the World Cup and consign their hosts to the play-offs.
