Reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal flexed their muscles with an impressive 3-0 win in their tournament opener against Gambia and they can make it two wins from two in their showdown with Group C rivals Cameroon.

Things may be much closer this time around, though, as this fixture has been notoriously tight down the years.

None of the seven meetings have seen more than one goal scored, with a 1-0 score-line copping on four occasions, with the other three meetings finishing 0-0.

So that suggests another cagey affair is in the offing, so our prediction is for a 1-0 win to Senegal.

Case for the defence is strong

Cameroon haven’t scored a goal against Senegal since 2005 and it is hard to see them breaking through such a strong defence on Friday.

Senegal limited Gambia to just two shots on target in their opening match on Monday, and they can stand firm against Cameroon too.

That was the fifth consecutive match in which they have kept a clean and our prediction is for the Teranga Lions to extend that sequence further on Friday.

Cameroon are not the force of old and have won just one of their last seven matches. We predict a narrow win for Senegal with 1-0 the way to go for a correct score bet.
